Here are the characters I think the characters are just as important as the cars. They make the series what it is...

name: Fujiwara Takumi

profile: Takumi is an 18 year old highschooler. He doesn't take any real interest in anything. In fact he gets really tired because of his morning job of delivering the tofu. Takumi is one of the younger drivers in the anime despite his age he is still one of the best drivers in the series. Takumi is starting to discover his love for cars and racing as the series progresses. He may seem lazy and boring but he's neither, I mean he delivers tofu at 4 in the morning he isn't lazy. Also he's tired so it may appear that he's boring. Takumi is fiercely loyal to his friends and always is there when they need him as seen in the anime.

name: Mogi Natsuki

profile: Natsuki is interested in Takumi romantically. She likes Takumi a lot. She's always cheerful and perky, but she's still a very likeable character. Natsuki has a secret...not saying.

name: Takeuchi Itsuki

car: Toyota AE 85 Levin
profile: Itsuki is Takumi's best friend and has a fascination of racing. He can be silly sometimes and his misfortunes are funny to the viewers of Initial D. For example that time that he bought an 85 Levin by accident. Sometimes you just have to feel sorry for him because he's a lonely driver, not really good with woman/girls. Itsuki keeps it real for Takumi, watch the show and you'll know what I'm talking about.

profile: Takumi's father. The original "drift king", he was an excellent driver in his youth but he gave it up it seems. Probably because age got to him and he has a family to look after. However he still wanted his son to be a great driver too but he had his own way of training him. Bunta placed a cup of water in the 86 every morning that Takumi would go and deliver the tofu. Sneaky but in turn he taught Takumi well, with out Takumi ever knowing that he was practicing

profile: Iketani is the leader of the Akina Speed Stars. Iketani has a lot to learn before he can really compete with the other drivers. Iketani is a very generous person because he let both Takumi and Itsuki tag along on one of his trips to go racing in the Akina mountains.

name: Takahashi Ryosuke (Ryousuke) AKA Akagi's Lone White Star

team: Akagi Redsuns
profile: Ryosuke is the best driver of Redsuns. He's also the older brother of Keisuke. He spends a lot of time analyzing the cars and the techiniques. Ryosuke has never lost a race and is always looking for a worthy opponent to win against. He's really cool, he doesn't go around bragging about himself.

team: Akagi Redsuns
profile: The second best of the Redsuns. He is the brother of Ryosuke who is the older one. Keisuke is reckless at times but is a good racer. He gives respect to those that deserve it.

team: Myougi Night Kids
profile: The best driver in the Night Kids. He's also the leader. He switched to a 32 after he lost a battle against one. Nakazato would be a really great racer if he had patience but he gets frustrated easily. Shingo and Nakazato don't get a long during first stage but they change later in the second stage.

profile: Second best of the Night Kids. Some people think that he's a really bad guy but he's driven to win (pun unintended haha) so he'll do ANYTHING to win. He tried to take over the Myougi Night Kids from Nakazato, but failed. Later Nakazato start to get a long in the second stage.

profile: Sayuki is the navigator of the Impact Blue team, she tells Mako where the obstacles and when to perform a drift.

profile: Mako is the best driver in the Usui trail, which have continuous sharp turns needing the driver to drift almost every corner. Mako has mastered the trail and the special diffucult turn called the c-121. She transforms into a competely different person when she races, because usually she is very shy and timid when she isn't behind the wheel
